The most horrible thing that could happen is occurring to College Football 25 Coins the Cowboys this moment.

They are winning. Why is that? Because Jason Garrett might keep his job if they win their way to the NFC East, and Garrett shouldn't be able to keep his job. I've written previously about this.

The offensive is dull. It's been improved with the addition of Amari Cooper, but it's not that different. It's Amari Cooper making plays. Thursday was a fantastic illustration.

It was a quick catch and a long sprint. The second one was a great catch inside triple coverage and Cooper eventually broke free and was able to get it home. Cooper's been worth the 1st round draft pick and those who claimed he was not will have to accept the truth. While Cooper has made the offense better and has improved the team's overall performance, I'm not sure Cooper has improved Dak Prescott any better.

What Cooper has done is open the run game little. It's a patchwork Cowboys offensive line was able to run the ball with ease yesterday. This was the formula they used to achieve success, and they're now returning to it. However, they do have one formula that works. This isn't a formula that will allow them to win for long, but it's a good start.

One of the best things the Cowboys have to offer is their defense. It's fast. It's physical, and they are able to rush passers. The defense is what gives the defense a chance to win each and every week. I am awed by watching the defense perform. They face the Saints this upcoming Thursday as a result, and they'll face the most rigorous test. We'll be able assess them better following the game.

What is there to say about the game at night? The Falcons aren't good.

The Falcons are guilty of the same things that bad football teams do. They lost their ball inside the 5-yard line twice and another inside the 20. Matt Ryan threw a tipped pass intercept for their fourth turn.

Ryan was 35-for-447 for 377 yards. He was supposed to have 60 passes. The Saints started the game as one of the top defensive units in College Football 25. and the Falcons were able to average just a yard per rush in the first half. They finished the game with 16 attempts for 26 yards. Just brutal.

I'd consider myself to be a largely old school College Football 25 thinking person. I've always believed in things like "you need to be running to set the tone" and "you need to run in order to establish play-action," and so on. Now, it's clear that these notions aren't the case. The purpose of offense is to score touchdowns, gaining yards, and moving the ball. Should passing the ball be the best option this week and you want to pass the ball, then do it each time you perform. Of course, there are still moments when being well-balanced is vital. It eats up the clock. It's a physical strain on players. Some defenses cannot defend the run. Some run actions can lead to passes or play later on. Therefore, there are reasons to run the ball. It was just not last night.

And finally, the Saints are the most successful team in College Football 25. End of story.
